Opinions About The Class...

I had an online class just a semester ago, and I had a tough time because our lectures were online, and watching it on the computer was the least motivating thing you can do for an online class. This class was surprisingly different from the one I took, and is so much more manageable without having the student lag on their classwork, because there is a due date for each discussion every week- which I like because it makes me have to do work to earn a good grade, and not push it off until the last minute. The exercises we used as well were very helpful and something that anyone can relate to so it is easier to comprehend and apply to our own situations.
The only thing that I least like about this class is how I did not really get to know the people in my group as well as those people that I see in class, but the group work that my group had was tremendously great. Through that I know that the group members are just as amazing as they are online. I also don’t really think this class need any much more improvement since it is a pretty good and enjoyable class- I love getting comments from my fellow students on my blog and the idea of a blogging class is also fun. I really enjoyed taking this under Professor Perez because she made it very much enjoyable :)

  1. Hi Jillybeanz,
You provided great feedback on this course in this post. You expressed both what you enjoyed about the class and pointed out a minor flaw, adding in constructive criticism. I agree with your first paragraph about what you liked about this online format for a class - I can imagine that an online class with lectures can be a bit difficult. This online format was very easy to follow along with, because we knew exactly what was due each week and when it was due. Any changes were clearly noted in Professor Perez's blog. I can see what you mean by not getting to know the classmates, however, everyone was very diligent about responding to emails which made it much easier.

  2. Jillibeanz08,
I completely agree with your post! i also took an online class last winter, and felt the exact same way! The lectures were online and were so boring to watch and listen to that most of the time I would not even do it, which was not so good on my grade! Anyways I agree that this whole blog thing is a great idea and definitely made the class more enjoyable and interesting. I really enjoyed getting feedbacks on my blog as well and being able to interact that way with the other students. I also loved taking this with Professor Perez, as she was very open to questions and was always available :)
Great post and good luck on our final!
    Elsie-

  3. I think the fact that you have taken an online class before made it easier for you to give accurate feedback on this course. I can see how different this course is compared to the one you took last semester. Since this was my first time in an online class I had disliked some of the things that you like such as having weekly assignments to keep you on top of the material. I got kind of overwhelmed with the assignments each week but I can see how watching a lecture online can be quite boring and an ineffective way to grasp new concepts.
